464 Soft Drinks Limited, of Brockworth in Gloucestershire, has agreed to supply the RFUW with bottled water that will keep the top players in England refreshed and hydrated for the rest of the current international season. The product deal will enable the RFUW to invest the cash normally spent on water supply, into other areas of women’s rugby, further helping the development of the sport.
Rosie Williams, Managing Director of the RFUW commented:
“We are very pleased to have 464 Soft Drinks on board and we would like to welcome the company as an official partner of the RFUW. The supply of water by 464 means we can invest the cash originally allocated for this into other areas of the game, in particular the development of women’s rugby at a grass roots level.”
464 Soft Drinks will supply the RFUW with over ten thousand litres of water for international matches for the 2004/05 season. Product will be called off as and when it is required by the RFUW and includes supply to the England teams when they travel abroad.
David Duncan of 464 Soft Drinks is excited about the partnership with Women’s Rugby in England:
“We are very pleased to be able to invest in Women’s rugby, developing it as a sport played within schools and at an international level. At 464 we see a lot of similarities with Women’s rugby, we are both effectively developing our brands and looking to broaden our target markets. We wish the teams every success and are delighted that we can help support them”.
The supply deal is effective immediately and covers the 44 players that make up the England Elite Squad, as well as The Academy, Under 19s and Student teams. The first supply of product was made available for the two recent games against Canada at Richmond and Newbury. England won both of these games convincingly, racking up scores of 45-5 and 41-3 respectively. The next fixture sees a young England fifteen take on Wales at Clifton RFC on Wednesday 8th December 2004, kick-off 6.00pm. Entry to the ground is free for all.
