Following the final round of trials at Warwick University, England Academy Coach, Gary Street has today confirmed his selections for the England Students squad for the 2004-05 international season.
After three highly competitive weekends of trials, that attracted over 200 students from around the country, the group of girls has been whittled down to the squad of 26, who will play their first game against the British Army at Aldershot on Friday 4th February.
With a large number of quality players attending throughout the trial, the selection process was very tough for coaches Mark Tomlinson and Matt Johnson. Gary Street who oversees the development of the Students commented:
“We have been very pleased with the standard of play throughout the trial process. With the new performance structure now in place, the Students squad will integrate well with the England Academy and England U19s. These teams enable us to identify and develop the younger generation of players that will go on to represent the England Senior side in the future.”
