Emirates Airline has an extensive sponsorship portfolio of sporting events on a global scale. In the world of Rugby Sevens, Emirates sponsors the Emirates Airline London Sevens, Dubai Sevens, South Africa Sevens and the recently announced Paris Sevens. Emirates is also the official sponsor of the England and Samoan rugby Sevens teams.

Football is another sport that Emirates supports. The airline is an Official Partner of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, as well as Official sponsor of Arsenal Football Club, including naming rights to the new 'Emirates Stadium', the English Football Referees and Match Officials, Franz Beckenbauer and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Other notable sponsorships include Emirates Team New Zealand and its challenge for the 32nd America's Cup, PGA European Tour's Dubai Desert Classic, the Finals (in Dubai) of the UIMC Class 1 World Offshore Powerboat Championship, the Dubai Tennis Open, Collingwood Australian Rules Football team and the International Cricket Council's international panel of umpires and match referees for all Test and One Day international matches.

Beginning in 1998, Nike's sponsorship involves supplying apparel for all of England's representative teams from the senior team to the schools' representative XV and from England management to all Regional Development Officers (RDOs) nationwide. It has also been instrumental in working with the England coaching team to help them develop new and innovative training methods, and is committed to giving England real advantage on the pitch. Innovations such as high-tenacity Dri-Fit fabrics for the game shirts and shorts designed for specific positional needs have moved traditional rugby kit on light years. In conjunction with the RDOs, Nike also sponsors 35 clinics for young players around the country, bringing along England players to inspire and coach the kids taking part.
