Depends on various factors to what the ideal diet is. If you are training 3 days a week and playing a match at teh weekend I would say to you that you should eat a high carbohydrate high protein diet, involving pasta, potato, eat masses of fruit and veg! hi energy protein drinks, eggs(although poached and boiled not scrabbled or fried). Eat some salty food although dont go overboard(a lot of salt is lost when you sweat), White meats like fish and chicken are also preferable to red meats! Make sure you have a very high water in take as dehydration is one of the worst possible senarios and without knowing it apparently 85% of people are dehydrated with out knowing it! Just stick to a low fat, high energy diet with plenty of fluids and you will be ok! Boring as hell though!
