Probably too late to be picked up as this is a potentially dead thread.

What has been the Aus/NZ penalty to try ratio during their recent tri-nations games?

Perhaps they have learned that the English way of scoring points may be better!

No surprises tonight. The cowardly English tactic, so successful recently, of:

1) Strangle anything that resembles running, flowing rugby
2) Pocket three points for every penalty that occurs within 50m of the tryline

only works if a Wilkinson is present.

It's not rugby. It's full-contact golf. Throughout the world cup they struggled to score tries...now, with their only other means of scoring points stripped from them, the true rugby ability of this side will be transparent.

Those who looked on dismay as the great game of rugby was reduced to penalty sharpshooting in the World Cup would have been doing the Haka with the kiwis tonight.

Australia's next. More of the same to come.
