The Army is pretty good as a Sevens TEAM and they do have a few good players but those are not England qualified.
Remember, the teams the Army play in the competitions THEY enter are rarely sides containing TOP 7s players - e.g. most Prem 1 Clubs put out development/ 2nd team players, even in top sevens competitions.
Even if they were England qualified, I doubt there are any who are good enough to replace players in Joe Lydon's MAIN Squad.
e.g. As an example, I watched the Rosslyn Park Sevens last Weds. (in which the Army competed & were knocked-out in the semis by L/ Irish) and the significant factor of the tournament was that Simon Amor (one of Joe's regulars)was just SO MUCH BETTER in every aspect of his game than any other player, almost to the extent that it occurred to me that such quality players might be banned from all but the very top tournaments.

I wonder if Joe Lydon is looking in to whether any of the Army Fijians are English qualified? Are we attempting to create a winning 7s squad, or are we using the World Sevens stage to develop our players towards winning the 2007 World Cup?
Interesting to see that Howard Graham was selected at 30+ for the last 7s competition.

Same selection rules/regs (English grand parent) apply to Fijians as for Kiwis (viz JR & Henry Paul).
i.e. if your good enough and IRB regs. qualified for England, you'd get picked.
Slightly diff for the Army 7s team though, where the qualification is "Are you in the British Army?".

The Army played London Wasps 2nd XV at the Stoop on 23 April and narrowly one. (see the report on www.wasps.co.uk) Many of the Wasps players, supporters etc were very impressed with the Fijian element of the Army team.
As I said before, if you (or any player) are English qualified and good enough then it will only be a matter of time before we see our first Fijian-born English qualified player. My only concern is that Fijian players are not necessarily totally committed to their country of birth.

If you qualify for England, I would suggest that you get a mainland posting near a premiership club and get sabbatical leave. That way you will put yourself in the shop-window for representative rugby. However, I would imagine that Joe Lydon probably knows everything about you except perhaps your eligibility to represent England. Try contacting Joe Lydon at the RFU. Good luck.

As the Army has now have a large amount of FIJIAN player's within the army playing top rugby would any of you coaches pick them for the 7s team i do know 1 was selected for the FIJI team in the DUBAI 7s in December last year. And would you pick then for the full 15's game if they played for the like's of Leicester/Bath/Quins.
