I tend to agree with Scorpheus, however the players just being there with a quality coach would be ideal.

Great idea.....problem is the big club players (even if not on tour) are now only getting a few weaks offbetween previous season and pre-season training but a few days out of the hols wouldn't hurt much.

has to be said, though, that many of these guys play far better than they coach!!!

The top players will be involved in international tours, all other players will be resting, rehabilitative surgery, holidays etc. They would probably welcome your idea, however they get about 3 - 4 weeks off before they're back for pre-season training and training camps.

We do actually get quite a lot from these players during the season, however a lot of their time is taken up with club projects.

Have you tried writing to the clubs?

There are coaches within the top clubs that could facilitate your request, or why not write and ask to watch them training to pick up ideas.

Can we have an open invitation from the RFU and the Senior Clubs throughout the UK.
What for ???.
How about during the close season all the Senior clubs have an open invitation to all their local junior clubs to come along and see how they train and coach ?.
We all have approx 3 months to help and support each other this way at very little cost except in time !.
During this time their could be :-
1. Specific times for local coaches to experience a bit of ZEST !!!.
2. Times for junior players to be involved with the stars they admire !.
3. Mini and Colts members could be shown some of the moves, coaching tips that they would like to aspire to !.
This could be regarded as a motivational exercise and a quality PR move by clubs and RFU to put something back into the clubs from whence they came ???.
HOW about it RFU and senior clubs ?.
Rgds Gordon.
