surely it all depends on whatever is meant by "the way it is supposed to be played".

Seeing as the IRB charter on the game and the laws do not prescribe any particular style I fail to see how any one "way" is the "way" the game is "supposed" to be played.

Unless of course the meaning is that via a mixture of carrying, passing and kicking the ball, a side amasses points through goals and tries. As per the way the game has been played.

If Ashton is still the coach in the 6 Nations, I would guess the first game against Wales at Twickenham on Feb 2nd. He was severely constrained in terms of what he could work with at the RWC. Ashton's sides are known for running rugby: I imagine that there will be considerable changes of personnel, with Ashton trying to get something out of a back line selected from Wilko, Barkley, Hipkiss, Noon, Tait, Strettle, Sackey Cipriani, Abendanon and possibly Lewsey, supported by a back row selected from Lund, Ward-Smith, Easter, Palmer, Moodey and Rees. Let's re-evaluate after that tournament.

I know how you feel, especially when we have a wealth of runing rugby talent in the squad, its all about the equlibrium between running and kicking and that takes time. We will get there soon enough we just have to be patient.
