The ref has de-valued his own authority by not pinging it. (also makes our job in the weeds much more difficult) But let's face it "own feet" is perfectly allowable in the top level of the game, it's just illegal and against the LotG for the rest of us!!!

I didn't spot it, but I certainly agree with you.

Watched Bath v Wasps last weekend and was dismayed to see the Wasps scrum half putting the ball into the scrum along its long axis and spinning it at the same time, so that it would spin towards his front row. I could see it so I'm sure the ref could, but it was left unpenalised. In my view this blatant disregard for the laws de-values the referee's authority and makes me wonder if they have an alternative set of laws to work from?? It certainly wouldn't go unpunished in one of my games.
