>1) I quick line out throw through the mark moves backwards – travels more than 15 meters diagonally at 20 odd degrees – but does not cross the 5 m line is received by a player in the 5 m channel ….I pulled the play up as not 5 m FK at the 15m …correctly I think ?
Correct. Must still cross the line. (No, we *know* the ELV as written doesn't really say this but the RFU have clarified.)
>2) A quick line out throw backwards - no player from either size had made any sort of a line – the 15 ran up field about 20 /24 m infield and played on ……I played this as I would an over throw and played on ………. I am now asking if that should have been brought back as no line had formed which could be overthrown ?....... any views or direction please
There's no limit to how far a quick throw has to go after it's gone 5m. Play on.

Working with these this weekend – two events occurred on the park – which I wanted to share and better understand
1) I quick line out throw through the mark moves backwards – travels more than 15 meters diagonally at 20 odd degrees – but does not cross the 5 m line is received by a player in the 5 m channel ….I pulled the play up as not 5 m FK at the 15m …correctly I think ?
2) A quick line out throw backwards - no player from either size had made any sort of a line – the 15 ran up field about 20 /24 m infield and played on ……I played this as I would an over throw and played on ………. I am now asking if that should have been brought back as no line had formed which could be overthrown ?....... any views or direction please
