England Women’s Academy Coach Gary Street has today (Tuesday) named his starting XV to face Canada Under 19s in Vancouver on Thursday.
The England young-guns will take on their Canadian counterparts twice over the next five days, starting with their first test on Thursday at Cowichan RFC, kick-off 11.30pm GMT. England Under 19s also face Canada Under 19s on Sunday at Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island (kick-off 10pm GMT).
Hooker Ollie Poore of Lichfield RFC will captain the side, with Richmond fly-half Tina Lee acting as vice-captain.
Street said: “With it being such an exciting time because of the Women’s World Cup in Canada in August and September, this tour will give us a chance to see where our young players are in relation to their Canadian counterparts. All the girls are looking forward to testing themselves against a team they have never played before and also playing two overseas fixtures – something they also never done before. They are very excited about the new challenges that await them.”
