Go Play Rugby

Following England's great performance in Rugby World Cup, we are keen to continue to the fantastic work of CB and Club Campaign teams to recruit adult players. Please encourage everyone to use the new "Get Your Mates to Play" tool on to send video messages to potential players.

An "advertorial" is being placed in major regional newspapers across England and in the Daily Telegraph (Sat) and Times (Fri) Rugby World Cup supplements. A special page and extra banners are live on which have already increased usage of the Play website by 4000 visitors a day. Mike Tindall will be doing 8 hours of radio and TV interviews to support Go Play Rugby recruitment by clubs and CBs.

Club Constitutions

Further to the presentation at the CB Conference, guidance for clubs about constitutions is available on the Community Rugby website under club management, publications and guidelines, constitutional guidelines.

A glossy brochure telling the clubs the benefit of incorporating with a disc with all the precedents on will be finalized at the end of October. The RFU work with two firms who are able to support clubs for a fee. Edwin Coe help establish industrial and provident societies. Farrers help in establishing companies limited by guarantee. Farrers provide overviews for clubs who are not sure which option will be best for them.

CB Model Structure

The CB & Club Development Sub Committee have reviewed and updated the model structure for Constituent Bodies in light of changes such as Schools of Rugby. Here is the CB Model Structure one page diagram can be found. CBs may wish to refer to this model when agreeing the appropriate structure to meet their local needs.

RFUW Law Guidance

The RFUW have moved to U15''s and U18"s this year. A Law Guidance Card will be sent out to RFUW clubs and to referees societies as a pocket sized reminder for regulations at the various age groups of the game. It also explains the options for girls who are U12's within the continuum. In addition, the attached email copy has been designed for other staff and volunteers for their information.

Leisure Rugby

Despite the wet weather it''s been a busy few months for the RFU''s Leisure Rugby team. 346 events took place in 2006/7 and 3,243 teams took part, compared to 2,599 in 2005/6. Here are the Leisure Rugby details in full.

BBC Sports Unsung Hero of 2007

We are looking for nominees in each region for this highly prestigious award with at £2,500 bursary for the winner. Nominations close on Saturday 3 November. The nomination forms can be downloaded at Rugby had a regional winner in 2004 - Jean Lawrence of Newark Rugby club. It would be lovely to have another deserving volunteer win so please spare a few minutes to value one of your club or CB volunteers.

Watch the Rugby World Cup Finalists at Twickenham!

South Africa - whether they win or lose on Saturday in Paris - will be coming to Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 1 December for a special match against the famous Barbarians. A number of England players are due to be confirmed for the Barbarians with Jason Robinson already announced.

Jason - a hero of both the 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups - will be making his final professional appearance in the match. Tickets are selling fast and are available from just £25 from the Ticketmaster website.

Walk of Legends

They will be making rugby history this weekend - why don't you? The 30 England players out in France are aiming to make rugby history and be the first team to win back to back Rugby World Cups. Whatever the result they have already made England fans all over the world proud and secured their place in the history books. But did you know there was an opportunity to secure your place in history?

As part of the new South Stand at Twickenham a special England Rugby Walk of Legends is being laid to celebrate fans of the game. You can buy a stone in the walkway and forever be remembered at the Home of England Rugby.
