URGENT Grand Draw
Please see the attached one page letter (from Simon Winman) that is being sent to all clubs via RugbyFirst bulk email with regard to the RFU Clubs Grand Draw for 2007-08. This explains the deferment of the Draw.
Go Play Rugby
Thanks to the hard work of the Campaign Teams in your CBs and clubs, supported by executive staff, we have seen a jump in the number of players being recorded in RugbyFirst. The latest issue of the on-line magazine www.rugbyplayermag.com features an extended interview with Will Greenwood and the thoughts of current England players. Check out page 31 to view the video footage.
The one page procedure attached explains how the RFU handles reports of clubs affected by flooding. If you have any feedback, please contact Simon Winman or Andy Lees.
Due to the RFU financial year end we apologise for the short delay in getting your Go Play Rugby Toolkit funding to you. The cheques have been sent this week and should be arriving with your project managers any day now, subject to postal strikes.
CB Orientation Day
Following the success of previous years, new CB officials (or new deputies/assistants) are invited to attend an ''orientation day'' at Twickenham to meet key members of staff and each other. The date for this year''s event has provisionally been agreed as Thursday 11 October 2007. Each CB has been allocated two places on a first come, first served basis, so please email the names, roles and email addresses of potential attendees (including reserves) to [email@example.com].
The attached two page letter regarding insurance for season 2007/08 has been sent to clubs. Please note clubs may need to consider additional cover for loss/damage to contents/equipment/pitches and business continuity.
Health and safety Advice
For health and safety and insurance advice for your rugby club visit the Insurance section of the RFU website. It is dedicated to online advice for rugby clubs. It currently contains an insurance section which provides information on cover, claims and policies provided by Marsh and a Health and Safety Toolkit which provides guidance on many areas of risk applicable to rugby clubs as well as information and links to assist clubs with risk assessments and points of legislation. This has been put together with support from the RFU''s legal helpline who can also be contacted for further specific advice and will be updated and added to over the season.
The England Deaf Rugby Union is inviting players with a hearing impairment (25dB or more, bi-lateral impairment, ie equivalent of 'deaf in one ear') to join them and trial for the current England squad. North - 16 September 2007
Midlands - 23 September 2007
South - 30 September 2007
