Go Play Rugby
(from Andy Lees)
Clubs and CBs are already out in their local communities recruiting players! The resource packs have been delivered to CBs and some of the 715 participating clubs are already feeling the benefit with the arrival of new players for pre-season training. The media launch on 20 July was attended by journalists from press, radio and TV. Will Greenwood gave 23 interviews to the media including one to the Times.
The postcode search facility is putting returning players in touch with their local Go Play Rugby Club. They can go to www.goplayrugby.com or text their postcode to 64411 - give it a go and see if it works! For further information e-mail email@example.com or visit www.goplayrugby.com
RFU Public Liability Insurance
(from Keith Campbell)
Please find attached the latest proof of insurance letter from Marsh, which confirms that the RFU has cover for Employers, Primary & Products liability from 1st July 2007 to 30th June 2008. Please keep a copy of this letter for future reference.
The RFU Handbook and Yearbook are being finalized with information extracted from RugbyFirst. In some cases there are duplicate entries for roles, for example a club has entered details for a new secretary but has not removed the role from the old secretary. To ensure we have the correct details for publication and mail-outs, Jessica Mills and her team, Katharine Bessent and Bethan Palmer, have been phoning to clarify the current contact.
Please would you encourage all your clubs to keep the officer information in RugbyFirst up to date throughout the year so that important information, including International Ticket applications, reaches them.
The RFU Interim Report for Season 2006-2007 has been published and sent to clubs. An electronic copy or the Interim Report can also be downloaded here.
Evan Crawford left the RFU earlier this year and following two rounds of interviews, we have appointed Gary Henderson to the position of Head of Coach Development for Community Rugby. Gary officially started his new post on 2 July following his short tenure as Acting Head of Coach Development.
After a highly competitive recruitment and selection process, we are pleased to confirm the appointment of Steve Peters as RDM for Midlands West from 1 August. We wish Gary and Steve the very best of luck in their new positions.
