07 CB Send Out - 17 March 2009
With regard to the two County Championship finals played at Twickenham, your attention is drawn to the fact that the England vs. Barbarians match (together with the Bill Beaumont Cup & County Championship Shield finals) is on Saturday 30 May 2009 and not Sunday 31 May. This change was made in September after the various publication deadlines and we understand some counties are unaware of the change. The kick off times are: County Championship Shield - 10:00hrs; Bill Beaumont Cup - 12:00hrs. Apologies for any confusion.
National Student Rugby Conference
Constituent Bodies are invited to send one representative each to the annual National Student Rugby Conference at Twickenham on 21 April 2009. This is the first time that CBs have been invited to attend as the conference themes will address the important areas of the RFU People and Places strategy for 2009-2011.
Through formal club links, Universities can often provide the key to ensuring that the level of rugby activity in a town matches the facilities which are available. The conference will address how the student body can best work with CBs to achieve this as well as tackling the question of how we continue to increase participation in student rugby.
Following a review of joint working between the Students RFU and county CBs, the SRFU is seeking to develop a partnership approach to local planning and delivery and we hope that there will be a good representation from the county CBs as well as student club officers SRFU and University staff. Further details and a booking form are attached. Please return your booking form by 3 April 2009. Enquiries to [email@example.com].
