As the RFU’s Official Community Partner, SSE are fully committed to making English rugby clubs more sustainable in the long term. To deliver on this commitment, SSE is working to move all clubs on to the same buying cycle by 2015. This will see clubs strengthen their buying power as a collective and ultimately get a better deal on energy purchasing. Remember, despite every effort to provide clubs with the cheapest tariffs, energy prices are subject to change on a daily and sometimes hourly basis and SSE may not always be the most cost-effective contract available to every club.
SSE Rugby Energy
Launched in January 2013, SSE Rugby Energy is an initiative developed in partnership with the RFU and Utility Aid to help clubs save money on their energy bills.
By October 2013, 43 clubs have come on supply with SSE through SSE Rugby Energy and have made an average saving of over £800 on each of their annual gas or electricity contracts**. To see if your club could benefit from SSE Rugby Energy, follow these three simple steps:
- Step 1: Give Utility Aid a call on 0808 1782 022 and they will do all the hard work for you. They will give you advice on your current contract and search the energy market for the best deals available
- Step 2: Utility Aid will then negotiate a bespoke energy package with SSE on your behalf, and for transparency, benchmark the SSE offer against other energy providers and will take you through the comparable offers
- Step 3: If the benchmarked comparable offers are a better deal than the SSE negotiated package, SSE will endeavour to price match. These steps ensure Utility Aid present you with a range of offers to choose from
Utility Aid will be contacting clubs to discuss their energy bills. To make things even easier you can provide us with the details of the correct person to speak to, which we will pass on to Utility Aid.
