Discounted TV packages for Sky and BT Sport are available for RFU clubs and there have been some pricing changes for the 2013/14 season.

Sky

The Sky Base package has now been removed from the marketplace and will not be available to new subscribers. However, the RFU has negotiated that existing Sky Base customers will remain on this package.

From October 1, 2013, the price for new Sky Ultimate customers who have not been a Sky subscriber for the last three months will change to £177 (ex VAT) per month until June 30, 2014. Through the RFU’s relationship with Sky this new price includes an additional 25% discount on the current Sky Ultimate RFU price.

Sports clubs would normally fall under Sky’s General Agreement, the cost of which is £453 (ex VAT). Therefore this new price still represents a significant discount on what is available from Sky in the market.

Existing customers who are on Sky Base as at October 1, 2013 can also benefit from the Sky Ultimate price of £177 (ex VAT) if they wish to upgrade.

For new Sky Ultimate subscribers, Sky will also provide marketing support to clubs to help communicate the value of Sky’s content to members and to encourage more people into clubs, as well as offering access to their marketing collateral.

Although Sky will not be showing any Premiership Rugby from this season, it has enhanced its rugby portfolio in other areas. In addition to our QBE Internationals, the Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup, they will show an increased number of Greene King IPA Championship matches, additional autumn internationals for France and Italy, England Saxons and Under 20s, the HSBC Sevens World Series, the Rugby Club, and a lot of Southern Hemisphere rugby.

All of this top action is available through both the Sky Ultimate and Sky Base packages.

The Sky Ultimate package includes Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4, as well as Sky Sports F1, Sky Sports News, Sky 3D, British Eurosport 1 & 2, and Sky Entertainment Channels.

Sky has set up a dedicated number for any questions on the RFU offer on 0844 241 1172.

BT Sport

Premiership Rugby has appointed BT Sport as sole broadcaster for the Aviva Premiership from this season. BT Sport is available for £75 per month (ex VAT), giving access to all 69 live Aviva Premiership matches in your club. This offer also includes a free box and standard installation for those clubs without Sky equipment.

Everyone that signs up will be entitled to a 25% discount on one order made through Gilbert Rugby online*.

The BT Sport Pack is a collection of brand new, dedicated TV channels, BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN, only available from BT. As well as all the live Aviva Premiership Rugby, this also includes all the live JP Morgan Asset Management 7s and French Top 14 action. Plus 38 live Barclays Premier League football matches, FA Cup with Budweiser and much more.

*discount only applies through www.gilbertrugby.com
