Letchworth Garden City RFC (Hertfordshire RFU)

Letchworth Garden City RFC found effective club communication with players was proving to be problematic, especially with the junior section, so the girls management team decided to try something new that better matched the girls’ preferred method of communication, and was so was born the ‘Letchworth Girls’ Blog’.

More than a website, the blog is an electronic newsletter that can be updated in real time from any computer and even mobile phones to incorporate pictures, messages and links. It has developed beyond a means of keeping in touch with the girls into a way of promoting rugby right across the board. The result is a system that is both simple and extremely powerful in meshing almost perfectly with the way that young people communicate today.
