The President's Guest is widely viewed as the RFU's most prestigious recognition scheme. Each year the incumbent President, rugby union’s highest profile volunteer, extends an invitation to one volunteer from each Constituent Body (CB) to attend a Six Nations match at Twickenham. Season 2011/12 the president has chosen the England V Ireland Six Nations game. The CB nominates two individuals by letter to the RFU President by November, detailing the outstanding contribution they have made to their CB's club.
The President then selects one finalist from each CB who is invited to a day at Twickenham. He or she receives a complimentary ticket for pre-match lunch in the Spirit of Rugby, a complimentary match ticket and an invitation to the team’s Black Tie Post Match Dinner hosted by the RFU President at a top hotel. The volunteer's Council Member also hosts the volunteer throughout the day.
