Fundraising Award 2009/10
Winner: Lymm RFC
A five-year period of fund-raising to generate the resources to extend their playing facilities has resulted in Lymm RFC raising £900,000 - sufficient to allow the acquisition of 10 acres of land adjacent to our original pitch and clubhouse and its development into three new pitches and a mini-rugby area. This fundraising marathon has involved all parts of our membership from the oldest to the very youngest and from the businessman to the schoolboy. Donations have played a significant part, but other successful projects have included an annual Lymm "Grass Roots" Ball; the now legendary Lymm Pantomime; and from the very junior end, an U10s scheme involving players filling a Smartie tube with 20p pieces.
