Play On Award 2009/10

Winner: Bristol Barbarians

When flagging Bristol Barbarians tapped into the RFU's Play On Scheme last season they could hardly have imaged what an impact the decision would have. Numbers were dwindling and the average age of the first team was 35! However, the decision to strike a relationship with the University of the West of England (UWE) has transformed the situation. This year 30 players have been recruited so that the club has progressed to having two sides every week.
