Community engagement and partnerships

The rugby community and clubs provide safe, fun, friendly activity beyond education and into the local community for both young people and adults.

With its local staff, and through the tools outlined here,  the RFU supports and promotes the formation of partnerships between universities and with community clubs.

By working collaboratively with these partners, there are many benefits both to the university and to its students.

Through Seal of Approval, the RFU ensures that the accredited clubs you work with are committed to providing a secure and well maintained environment, as well as being supported by our professional staff. From 2012, this accreditation will also be available to universities.

The RFU has a club links toolkit, models of good practice and local staff to help you set up an effective and sustainable link. Providing such links for universities ensures that you can engage and integrate with the wider community on equal terms. This encourages students into lifelong involvement in the game.
