Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy and Guidance
It is important that all those delivering a safe and enjoyable rugby environment fully understand their responsibilities; the Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy and Guidance (PDF 959kB) sets out how organisations and individuals should work together to achieve this aim. A printer friendly version (PDF 421kB) can also be downloaded.
All children and vulnerable adults are entitled to protection from harm and have the right to take part in sport in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment.
This policy and guidance should be read by everyone involved in providing this environment within rugby union. Please refer to Regulation 21 – Safeguarding (PDF 36kB) for the RFU procedures relating to dealing with allegations of abuse or breach of the policy.
Club Safeguarding Officers and Club Officials will also find the RFU Safeguarding Toolkit (PDF 708kB) useful in helping them implement the policy.
There may be occasions when clubs may go on tour and will find the Touring with Children & Vulnerable Guidance (PDF 257kB) a useful reference.
