London Marriott Hotel

Twickenham With the new South Stand development comes a four star London Marriott Hotel, with 156 bedrooms and, restaurants, bars, all day and private dining and 24-hour room service.

Incorporating the world famous Marriott high standard, the hotel will be a unique destination for leisure, business and sport. There will be 27 premium bedrooms and six VIP suites overlooking Twickenham’s hallowed turf, with all rooms throughout the hotel featuring flat-screen TVs and high speed internet access and Egyptian cotton fine linen and luxury bedding.

Up to 80 hotel and catering professionals will staff the new hotel. And the fact that, even before it exists, London Marriott Hotel Twickenham has already won the 2007 Marketing Award from the South London Business Council for its excellent pre-opening marketing campaign bodes well for this fine partnership.

At the time of writing the fit-out process is underway and the target opening date is October 2008, with work continuing apace to put Twickenham’s distinctive four star hotel on the map.

Virgin Active Classic Heath Club

Completing the impressive package in the South Stand will be a state of the art Virgin Active Classic Health Club. No less than 44,000 sq feet of space will cater for the health and fitness needs of hotel guests and members. A 20-metre indoor pool, luxury spa, full range of modern exercise equipment and

a climbing wall rising through the building will be among the cutting edge technology on offer.

England Rugby Travel

The first year for England Rugby Travel Limited saw the company make a pre-tax profit of £26,000 and firmly establish itself as the leading provider of official supporter travel packages for England fans.

The company has provided a unique service and sold out their entire allocation for the Hong Kong Sevens, where supporters had exclusive access to an England training session and a question and answer opportunity with the players and coaches. At the time of writing marketing was beginning of packages for the 2008 Hong Kong tournament.

England Rugby Travel took 900 supporters out to Dublin’s Croke Park for the Ireland v France match, with travellers on a charter from Gatwick treated to a welcome video from Phil Vickery.

Appointed an official travel agent for Rugby World Cup 2007, England Rugby Travel managed more than 14,000 tickets and served the needs of England supporters. The company also, over the course of the year, successfully managed all the team travel logistics with the Elite Rugby Department
