Leicester Tigers are clamping down hard on ticket touts, with one culprit this week being given a five-year ban from buying tickets or entering the stadium.
The supporter in question purchased two tickets for last Saturday's sell-out Zurich Premiership clash against Bath, selling one on a well-known internet auction site for more than 80, well in excess of the face value.
The club has written to the perpetrator to officially confirm the ban, which is immediately effective.
Tigers managing director David Clayton said: "We believe this is a deceitful action and is exploiting supporters. We cannot condone any action that prevents genuine supporters from buying tickets.
"It is something, sadly, which is becoming increasingly prevalent as more and more games are selling out."
