Ugo Monye signs new contract with NEC Harlequins

24 July 2003

NEC Harlequins are delighted to announce that Ugo Monye has signed a new three-year contract that will keep him at the Stoop until June 2006.

The 20 year-old winger made his first start for Quins in the Zurich Premiership against London Wasps at the end of last season (10th May 2003), and scored two tries in the 25-21 victory.

Monye was a regular member of the England Sevens squad that finished second behind New Zealand in the IRB World Sevens Series last season, and was also part of the England Under 21 squad that competed in the recent IRB Under 21 World Cup.

"We are delighted that we have been able to extend Ugo's existing contract," said Mark Evans, NEC Harlequins Chief Executive. "He is clearly a player with a bright future and we want to see him continuing to develop wearing the NEC Harlequins shirt."
