Saracens part company with Coaching Team

Saracens have today confirmed the departure of the Coaching Team including Head Coach Wayne Shelford.

Saracens Chief Executive Mark Sinderberry today confirmed the news that Saracens will see a totally new coaching set up next season.

"We are today confirming that following a review of the season and the team's performance, we are now seeking a new coaching set up for next season," explained Mark Sinderberry. "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Wayne Shelford, Darrell Shelford, Tim Wright and Pat Fox for their efforts."

An announcement on the new coaching set up will be made in the coming weeks.

Parkes life!

Saracens are pleased to announce that 22-year-old hooker James Parkes has signed a new contract with the club.

James, who has been at the club since joining the Saracens Academy four years ago, has made 18 first team appearances for the club with 4 of them being last season, all from the bench where he spent a further 11 matches. His most memorable game last season was when he came on as a second-half substitute away in Colomiers where he scored a superb try with his first touch of the ball to clinch one of the team's most impressive victories.

Towards the end of the season, James went on loan to First Division side Worcester where he spent an enjoyable few months, but Saracens Chief Executive Mark Sinderberry is pleased to welcome the talented hooker back to the club.

"James is a talented youngster who works hard and we're pleased to be bringing him back to the club," explained Sinderberry. "He's got a big chance to prove himself during the first half of the season with Robbie (Russell) and Raphael (Ibanez) away on World Cup duty and I really hope he steps up to the challenge."

James, pleased to be back in black, now has a gilt-edged chance to secure a place in the squad for the next few seasons and his well aware that this coming season is a great opportunity for him.

"I'm obviously delighted to have signed a new contract with the club," enthused James. "I've been at the club a while now but haven't quite managed to crack a regular position in the starting line-up and next season is my chance to do so. I'm very excited about
next season and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in as soon as possible."
