Gloucester's Duncan McRae will have an exploratory operation on his knee this Thursday that will rule him out of Monday's Zurich Premiership clash away at London Wasps.
The 30 year-old stand-off missed last weekend's 20-13 win over Leicester Tigers in the Powergen Cup. The Aussie had returned the previous week in the win over Cardiff Blues in the Heineken Cup after six weeks out with an injured neck.
Commenting on www.gloucesterrugbyclub.com the Club's physio Nick Allen said: "There is suspected torn cartilage in the knee and Thursday's operation should confirm and remove any damage."
Director of rugby Nigel Melville will know more with regards to McRae's availability after the operation this week.
