England and Canada may be allies in the Churchill Cup but that is all forgotten when it comes to the IRB sevens. England scored six tries to beat Canada 40-0 in their opening Emirates Airline South Africa sevens.
First on the scoresheet was Jonny Hylton (Worcester Warriors) followed by further first half tries from Andy Vilk (Northampton Saints) and two from leading IRB points scorer Ben Gollings.
After the break Dan Luger made his return to England rugby coming on as a replacement for Will Mathews and James Bailey (both Gloucester) came on for Hylton.
Last week's Dubai champions proved too strong for Canada and racked up more tries from Luke Narraway (gloucester) and Vilk.
Final score England 40 Canada 0
