NL&D Referees clinch sponsorship deal

08 December 2005

8th December -
The Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire Referees' Society has secured a lucrative new sponsorship deal with East Midlands Insulation Ltd.

The deal has been doubled in value by further funding from Sportsmatch, a government initiative which matches, pound-for-pound, money raised in sponsorship for community sports projects.

The sponsorship arranged by Nick Mudd, the managing director of East Midlands Insulation Ltd, will provide new shirts for NL&D Society Referees as well as touch judge flags bearing the company's logo.

The deal will also allow the NL&D Referees' Society to fund additional recruitment and training events and an award scheme recognising long-serving referees after ten and 20 years of service to the Society.

Among the referees who will benefit from the sponsorship is Alex Murphy, who was elected the RFU Council representative for NL&D in September. Murphy, a former Lincoln player, was elected as replacement for Martyn Thomas who is now the chairman of the RFU Management Board
