England Rugby Travel Appointed Official World Cup Agent
England Rugby Travel, the official travel company of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), has secured the status of official travel agent to the Rugby World Cup 2007 in France.

England Rugby Travel, a joint venture between the RFU and leading sports travel company Mike Burton Travel, is delighted with the appointment for the World Cup, as the national side continue their preparations to retain the trophy they won in 2003.

England Rugby Travel's official ticket-inclusive travel packages for the Rugby World Cup in 2007 will be available from the beginning of January 2006 when the appointed travel agents throughout the world also go on sale.

In addition to the Rugby World Cup 2007 appointment, travel packages for England's RBS 6 Nations campaign in 2006, which sees Andy Robinson's team travel to Rome, Edinburgh and Paris, will be available on-line at from next month (December).

Commenting on the appointment for the Rugby World Cup, which is the third largest sporting event in the world, the RFU's commercial director, Paul Vaughan, said: "We're delighted with the appointment. We all know the impact that the last World Cup had on this country. It is one of the biggest sporting events in the World and one that captures everyone's imagination.

"The next World Cup is in France and it's only two years away. The proximity and the growing number of supporters means there's a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy the tournament and be part of the England Rugby community.

"Supporters who travel with England Rugby Travel will know that they're supporting the England team and everything it stands for, and will be the 16th man on the field.

"The supporters were a memorable element of the last World Cup win, and we hope that with England Rugby Travel, they'll be as important in 2007."

Supporters can advance register for England Rugby Travel's World Cup packages at in December.

The Rugby World Cup organisers have been recommending that fans, clubs and private corporations should only purchase tickets from the Host Union's Official distribution networks and the official Travel Agents and Hospitality Sales Agents for Rugby World Cup 2007.

These are the only parties who will be authorised to sell tickets for the Rugby World Cup 2007. Tickets purchased from other sources may be liable to cancellation and may not, therefore, allow entry to Rugby World Cup 2007 matches.
