Tees Valley Rugby gets new Community Coach
Andrew Harsdon, a 23-year-old from Darlington, is the new Community Rugby Coach for Tees Valley.
He succeeds Jonathon Rickerby, who has taken an RFU appointment in Sheffield.
Darlington born-and-bred, Harsdon plays rugby for Darlington and was formerly a member of the Rotherham Titans Academy.
He has previously assisted Durham's Rugby Development Officer Dave Reed with a number of coaching projects before joining the RFU Rugby Development team.
He will be based at Stockton Government Council offices and can be contacted on 07921 951225.
Falcons coaching team flying far and wide
Acklam RFC recently became the latest club to take advantage of the Newcastle Falcons coaching offer when five Kingston Park players and coaches ran a two-hour session at the Middlesbrough club.
The session was mainly for the junior players, but Acklam Under 15s received a special session from Davy Wilson on scrum, lineout and rucking .
Over 30 coaches from Teesside and Durham and over 200 players attended the session.
Other Falcons players involved were Ross Batty, James Grindall and Tim Visser, with Danny Brown organising the Falcons contingent.
