11th December -
The Media Trust is looking for people to take part in a series of short adverts about volunteering. The adverts are part of a wider Government funded programme, Volunteering for All, designed to contribute to the Government''s target to raise levels of participation of socially excluded communities in volunteering. Therefore they are particularly interested in volunteers over 25 years old who:
- have no formal qualifications
- are from Black and Ethnic Minority Communities, in particular those from Chinese, Pakistani and Bangladeshi backgrounds
- have disabilities and/or limiting long-term illness
They are also interested to hear from people in receipt of benefits of some description, or receiving benefits when they first started volunteering. They should also be volunteering in a formal capacity (e.g. regular volunteering of at least one hour per week or three hours over the course of a month.)
The areas the Media Trust is focusing on are:
- Volunteers working with Young People
- Voluntary Pre-School Assistants in Nursery and Primary Education
- Volunteers in Hospitals and other Health Care settings
- Volunteers in Environmental Organisations
- Mentoring with any age group
- Volunteers working with Older People
- Volunteers working with Animals
The adverts will be filmed w/c 8 January 2007. Contact Maddie Kitchen email: maddiek@mediatrust.org
