Lincolnshire youngsters set for trip of lifetime

31 October 2006

Rugby players from The Priory Lincolnshire School of Science and Technology in Lincoln are busy fund-raising for the trip of a lifetime.

Players from the Priory LSST's Under-15 side will be making a two week trip to South Africa in April along with the school's netball team for a series of matches against local opposition.

The Priory LSST players are involved in a number of fund-raising events including bag-packing at local supermarkets, a sponsored wall climb, school discos and cleaning the seats at Lincoln City football club's Sincil Bank ground to raise funds for the tour.

They are also busy collecting goods, including computers, which they hope will be of use to the residents of Langa, a township on the outskirts of Cape Town. The Priory LSST party will play matches in Langa as part of their tour itinerary.

The youngsters will leave England on April 16 and spend time at a game reserve before they play matches at Wonderboom HS near Johannesburg, Gerritt Maritz HS near Pretoria, the Langa club and two schools in Cape Town.
