  • Bourgoin suffered their first defeat in the French Top 14 last time out when going down at home to Clermont Auvergne. They had previously beaten Montauban and Auch and drawn at Perpignan. They have now slipped to 6th in the table.
  • Bourgoin are now 3rd in Heineken Cup Pool 2 following their 31-7 home defeat by Gloucester last week and their chances of progressing further in the competition this season are very remote.
  • Gloucester are leading the way in the Guinness Premiership this season winning 6 of their opening 7 matches, their only defeat coming away from home at London Irish.
  • They also top Heineken Pool 2 after beating Ulster at Ravenhill, Ospreys at Kingsholm and Bourgoin at Stade Pierre Rajon.

  • Bourgoin have a terrible record against English clubs on home soil. They have played an English team every year and only managed one home win, against Sale Sharks in 2002/03.
  • Bourgoin's away record in the Heineken Cup is abysmal. They have only won 2 matches from 22 played and have lost the last 15 in succession. Their 2 wins came at Sale and Ulster.
  • They played Gloucester in the Heineken Cup in 2003/04 and lost both games by wide margins.
