  • Saturday's match brings together again the current Challenge Cup winners and current Heineken Cup holders.
  • Clermont Auvergne have made a good start to their 2007/08 French Top 14 campaign. They stand 3rd in the league after 4 rounds having beaten Montpellier at home, Albi and Bourgoin away and losing at Stade Francais.

  • Brock Jones scored 22 points for Clermont Auvergne against London Wasps last Saturday beating the club's previous best in the Heineken Cup, 21 points by Gerald Merceron against Castres in 2001/02.
  • South African world cup winning skipper John Smit has joined Clermont Auvergne this season but did not play last Saturday.
  • Lawrence Dallaglio and Simon Shaw on Saturday became the 47th and 48th players to reach 50 appearances in the Heineken Cup.
  • The only other London Wasps player to reach this milestone is Alex King, who came on as a replacement for Clermont Auvergne last Saturday.
