Redingensians Rugby Club has a long-held reputation for its high quality youth rugby and the latest accolade to be bestowed on the club is its selection to compete in the prestigious Loire Rugby Nations tournament.

As one of only two clubs in the country to be selected Redingensians will compete in the international competition, which also includes teams from Fiji, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales, in September. The competition is linked to the 2007 IRB Rugby World Cup and the tournament will fittingly culminate at the Scotland versus Portugal match in St. Etienne on September 9th.

Redingensians will be sending a team of Under 17s players from their successful Academy. Alan Jones from the club said: "This represents an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the boys selected to participate in the Youth World Cup and we are all very excited."

The tournament will take place at various venues around the Loire.
