RFU seeks tenders for Official Hospitality Licensees

31 May 2007

Friday 1 June 2007

The Rugby Football Union is inviting companies to tender to become an Official Hospitality Licensee of the RFU.

This is part of the Union's bid to improve the corporate hospitality that takes place at international and other big matches at Twickenham Stadium and to minimise the number of Twickenham tickets reaching the black market.

The present RFU licenses granted t Twickenham Experience Limited, Mike Burton Group, Sportingclass and Events International are due to run out at the end of the 2007/08 season and, with the current scheme having proved successful, Business Operations Director Paul Vaughan is keen to repeat the process.

In order to receive an official tender document, companies wishing to be considered for official status should submit a letter of interest, together with a non-refundable cheque for 500 to cover administration costs, by 25 June 2007, to:

Paul Vaughan
Business Operations Director
Rugby House
Rugby Road

Invitations to tender, which will include all relevant information, minimum standards and criteria, with which successful applicants will have to comply, will be sent within two days.  The new five year licenses will run from the start of the 2008/09 season.

The closing date for applications is 10 August 2007, after which applicants may be invited to an interview to discuss their tender.  The RFU is expected to announce its new Official Hospitality Licensees in September 2007.
