OLD Northamptonians have been disqualified from the EDF Energy Senior Vase for fielding an ineligible player.
Old Northamptonians beat Bridgnorth 41-0 in the fourth round on December 13 but were subsequently found to have played a cup-tied player.
Bridgnorth have now been re-instated and are due to face Loughborough in the fifth round on January 17.
However Loughborough's place in the competition is subject to an appeal by Newbold-on-Avon who were disqualified by the competition organising committee.
A Rugby Football Union competitions panel will convene in Coventry on December 30 to hear Newbold's appeal into the circumstances surrounding the abandonment of their fourth round tie at Loughborough.
The organising committee determined that the match was abandoned for reasons other than weather conditions. Loughborough were leading 15-6 at the time.
