- Selectors have named 26 players for the Midlands Under-18 squad
- Young players chosen after impressing during inter-county matches and assessments
The Midlands Under-18 selectors have named a 26-strong squad for the Divisional Festival in Leeds next month.
The squad was selected after a series of inter-county matches earlier in the season, culminating in the Super Sunday event at Broadstreet RFC near Coventry in early November, followed by recent assessment sessions and a trial match at Loughborough GS.
The Midlands squad includes three former England Under-16 A internationals in Ryan Furniss, Hugh McBride and Barnaby Woods, who are alongside fly-half Dan Robson, the son of former England B scrum-half Simon.
Fly-half Conor McCann has already played international youth rugby for Canada Under-17s.
The Midlands squad will prepare for the Divisional Festival with a residential weekend at Bromsgrove School on December 19 to 20.
The Divisional Festival will be staged at the West Park Bramhope club from January 2 to 4 when the Midlands will be involved in matches on the first and last days.
