- Coventry deducted 15 points after administration
- The Championship side will be supported to continue their involvement in the competition
The Rugby Football Union's Management Board today confirmed a 15 point deduction for Coventry RFC following notification on December 4 that the club had been placed into administration.
Under the RFU's General Administrative Regulation 3.6, an insolvency event occurring during the season at a Guinness Premiership, Championship or National League club carries this level of penalty.
The RFU Management Board group delegated to deal with the Coventry situation continues to be in regular, and productive, dialogue with the administrators Begbie Taylor and the RFU remains keen to support them as far as is possible.
