England Sevens reach the bowl final

England 31- 7 Portugal

England will face France in the bowl final after beating Portugal, 31-7, in the bowl semi final at the Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens.

Two first half tries from power wing Uche Oduoza and another from James Rodwell got England off to a flying start with Ben Gollings, Tom Biggs and Micky Young adding to the scoreboard in the second half.

Oduoza fought off two Portuguese defenders to go over for his first in the third minute, which Gollings converted. After the restart he showed his strength to power through for his second to put England ahead, 12-0.

A well taken pass from captain Ollie Phillips saw Rodwell go over in the right corner to put England on 17-0 going into half time.

Portugal came back at England after the break to score their only converted try and England's defence held strong for the rest of the half.

Biggs, Gollings and Young added England's final points. Biggs charging up the left wing to pass inside to Gollings who went over under the posts, Biggs again, after the restart intercepted a Portuguese cross field kick to go over. Gollings and Young converted both to take the final score to 31-7.

England face France in the bowl final at 5.25pm.
