- Demand for tickets “fantastic”
- Event will feature Try of the Century and Player of the Century awards
The RFU’s 765 place celebration dinner for Twickenham Stadium's Centenary has sold out, six weeks before the event on November 2.
The dinner, to be held in the South Stand Rose Suite, includes a five course meal designed by legendary chef Albert Roux OBE, which will be based around food and recipe's from the early 1900's.
Entertainment is being provided by members of BBC 1's 'Strictly Come Dancing', and by players from the past, including the Centenary Ambassadors. The present Senior EPS squad will be attending on the night.
The 'O2 Player of the Century' will be announced at the dinner along with the 'bmi Try of the Centenary' which guests will vote for on the night, followed by a short auction with proceeds going to the RFU Injured Players Foundation.
RFU Business Operations Director Paul Vaughan said "Demand for the dinner has been fantastic and we have had to set up a reserve list for those wishing to attend if anyone drops out. It will be a one off special occasion and a key event of the Twickenham Stadium Centenary Season commemorations."
