Harlequins beat Connacht 20-9 but still surrendered top spot in pool one to Bayonne while Leeds Carnegie stormed to a first home win of the season.

Quins' Tom Guest, standing in at No.8 in the absence of the unwell Nick Easter, gave his side an ideal start when he raced in from 35 metres, and then made a key contribution to a second try for the team 10 minutes into the second half.

Guest made a break before throwing a long pass out for Mike Brown to supply the finish.

Miah Nikora kicked three penalties for Connacht, while Nick Evans had two penalties and two conversions for Quins.

Leeds earn first win at Headingley this season

Bayonne are top of the pool on try count after running in nine tries in a 65-7 victory over Italian side Cavalieri Prato, centre Sam Gerber scoring four of them.

Marco Wentzel and Lee Blackett scored two tries apiece to help Leeds record their second win of the season, as they defeated Crociati 55-6 in pool four.

Ceiron Thomas, Leigh Hinton, Pete Wackett and Henry Fa'afili also touched down, as Leeds converted a 13-6 half-time lead into an impressive final scoreline.

The victory was Leeds' first win at Headingley this season.
