Hinckley fined for registration breach

  • Leicestershire club fined

National Three Midlands club Hinckley have been fined £1,000 for failing to correctly register a player.

The fine was imposed by the Midlands Leagues Organising Committee after Hinckley admitted that the correct registration documents had not been signed by player Matthew Weighman and that no Notification of Transfer had been received by his former club Gravesend.

No proof of postage, as required by Registration Regulations, was obtained.

The MLOC accepted that the matter was a case of mal-administration rather than a deliberate attempt to cheat.

"In its considerations, the Organising Committee has taken account of the vital importance of maintaining the integrity of Registration Regulations in support of the league structure," said MLOC chairman Paul Kaminski.
