England U16 face final warm-up against Combined Academies

19 March 2010

  • Second of two practice matches against strong opposition
  • Academies side coached by John Fletcher and Peter Walton

The England Under 16 squad will take on a Combined Academies team of U17 players drawn from the England Rugby Academies in a practice match at Cokethorpe School in Oxfordshire this Sunday (March 21).

This is the second of two non-cap practice fixtures for England U16s this month against different Combined Academies U17 sides. This one will be coached by John Fletcher and Peter Walton and includes players from 11 of the 14 regional England Rugby Academies.

It will bring to a conclusion the England U16 squad’s three-day training camp at Cokethorpe, their last get-together before taking part in the Four Nations Tournament, to be hosted this year by Italy in Rome from April 3-10.

The venues for the Four Nations matches have changed for logistical reasons from those previously issued by the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR), and all six matches will now be played at the Stadio Unione Rugby Capitolina.
