England Blues win at Wellington Festival

England  Blues Under 16s overcame stubborn resistance from England Division North to end their Wellington Festival on a high with a 29-5 win this morning.

The Blues ran in ran in five tries, two of the scored by winger Sean Brown (Prudhoe School, Ryton RFC and Durham) though it was a disjointed and error-strewn performance against determined opponents.

England’s other tries came from fly-half Josh Sharp (Cheredes School, Bishop’s Stortford RFC , Saracens Academy and Hertfordshire) and centres Sam Allen (QEGS Wakefield, Doncaster RFC, Leeds Carnegie Academy and Yorkshire) and Clark Davidson (Bedford School, Dunstablians RFC, Northampton Saints Academy and East Midlands). Sharp converted two of the tries.

The Blues completed the festival with a record of played three, won two lost one, having beaten Belgium Under 17s in their opener but lost to Scotland Under 17s last Tuesday.
