Quality panel for North Midlands Coaching Conference

Former South Africa full back Thinus Delport, ex-international referee Chris White and Worcester Warriors hooker Chris Fortey will be among the guest presenters at the annual North Midlands Coaching Conference next month.

The popular conference will take place at Bromsgrove School on January 15 (9.45am to 4pm) and has again attracted a high quality team of presenters.

White, now the RFU National Referee Academy Manager, will run two sessions with Alan Biggs, the RFU Regional Referee Development Manager for Midlands West, on coach/player and referee communication.

Delport, who now plays for National One club Stourbridge as well as working as a Sky Sports summariser, will run a session on back play during the afternoon coaching carousel.

Fortey will be involved in the coaching carousel with a session on line out throwing with Andy Key, the Rugby Lions chief executive and former director of rugby of Leeds Carnegie, running a session on developing skilful back play.

There will also be a session on mental skills for talented players run by Dr Andrea Faull of Worcester University and Rachel Brown during the morning which also includes group work with the RFU Rugby Development staff.
