  • Current U20 skipper lifts lid on his international teammates

England U20 and Newcastle Falcons' Alex Gray is quickly establishing himself as an incredibly accomplished No. 8. The 20-year-old has captained Rob Hunter's U20 side to two victories from two in this season's 6 Nations, scoring a try in each game to boot.

RFU.com caught up with Alex to discover a little bit more about him as a person.

How do you relax outside of the rugby bubble?
I enjoy going to the cinema or just chilling out with a few mates.

Best and worst trainers in the England camp.
There are no worst trainers. We have a group of hard workers. The best trainer changes from day to day because the competition is so high.

Best skills in the England camp?
Toss up between Charlie Matthews and George Ford.

If money was no object what car would you drive?
Well I’ve got a Ferrari so I’d probably go for a Lamborghini to keep it company.

Favourite holiday destination?
New Zealand, I played rugby over there for a while and it's an amazing country.

Last time you laughed until you cried?
Just watching Charlie Matthews in everyday life, classic.

Most famous person you’ve ever met?
Apart from George Ford, probably Alan Shearer.

Sporting idol(s) growing up?
Martin Johnson and Jonah Lomu.

Talk us through your ideal three course meal
Dough balls for starter, Roast duck for the main course and then a warm chocolate cake to top it all off.

You’re stuck on a desert island with one luxury item, what is it?
Jessica Alba. Is that allowed?

If you had a pet lion what would you call him?
Lad the lion.

Three songs that make you happy
Wonderwall by Oasis, Barbie Girl by Aqua... basically anything I can sing along to.

Which rugby club do you support and who is your favourite current player?
I support Newcastle Falcons and my favourite player would probably be Italy’s No. 8 Sergio Parrise.
