- Saints sign George Pisi
- Centre snapped up having impressed for Samoa in the autumn
Northampton have bolstered their midfield options by signing Samoa centre George Pisi.
The 24-year-old is currently playing in the Top 14 after joining Clermont as a medical joker.
However the former Blues back will now team up with the Saints in the summer after impressing boss Jim Mallinder during the autumn internationals.
Mallinder said: "George has improved a lot and we were impressed with what we've seen of him playing for Samoa in the autumn and Taranaki in the ITM Cup.
"He's a strong runner who likes to play with the ball in hand. Although he played for Samoa at centre he is comfortable in a number of positions, which will be good for our squad as a whole."
Pisi will replace London Irish-bound Joe Ansbro in the Saints squad, with Samoan relishing the chance to play in a talented backline.
"Playing against Chris Ashton and Ben Foden in the autumn was awesome and it'll be exciting to get the chance to play with them," said Pisi.
